Eating disorders can be complex and they can be simple. Every woman with an eating disorder or disordered eating has her own story of how she came to the point where she is now. Looking for help, looking for healing, looking for hope. Sometimes we look outside of ourselves for the solution, for the cure, for the answer, but the most important part of eating disorder recovery is YOU. * You have the desire to change. * You are ready to do things you've never done. * You long to live your ideal life. There's a quote that says, "If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten." Now is the time to try something new, and it can help to have some support, some guidance, and some encouragement on that journey- like a coach! What is Coaching – And How Does It Help With Eating Disorders? Coaching is a proactive approach to recovery that supports you where you need it. It's not about rehashing the past or longing for the future. While it is important to learn from and process the past, eating disorder coaching is about living, enjoying, and loving in the present. Coaching also equips you to set and achieve your goals on your terms. As your recovery coach, I may serve as your advisor, mentor, cheerleader, listening ear, sounding board, trouble shooter and more! I believe that coaching is effective for eating disorder recovery because it empowers you to make positive changes and it holds you accountable to make them. Coaching can involve gentle changes or it can be fast-paced, but the best thing about it is that you decide what recovery means to you and then we figure out how to get you there, enjoying the journey every step of the way.
